Running Accomplishments:

-I'm an avid runner and crossfitter turned obstacle racer.  This year has brought on new and unexpected opportunities racing in Spartan races.  I'm in love with this new challenging part of my life.

Here is what I've come away with so far

Short-Term Running Goals:

I am working to become the best obstacle  racer I can be.  If that goes hand in hand with a National Championship title, than I will have met 2 of my goals/dreams.

 

Long-Term Running Goals:

Another sub 3 hour marathon

Sub 1:20 half marathon

I want to complete an ironman and some ultra races.

I Hope to be running until I'm 100.

 

Personal:

I have 2 boys (7 and 4) and a little girl (14 months) that keep me on my toes and make life worth living..  I've been married to my better half (Jim clark) for 10 years.  I teach fitness classes and am a personal trainer - my 2nd love is Zumba!  I love what i do!

I hold Obstacle Training Groups at my house on saturdays -I feel so blessed to be able to help others.

My mom was still in town, so i got to just wake up at 8 am and go running (heaven).  i ran the water tower loop in near perfect running weather!  My endurance is starting to feel a lot better - 7 miles is starting to feel easy again.  I did have to go a little slower today cause my piriformis was bugging me again all the way down to my hamstring.  Time to go see april!  My feet felt great though!

5 very painful miles.  My hip/ glute pain was pretty debilitating.  I think my body is still messed up from pushing out a 10 lb baby!  Anyways, I could barely run, and it was quite challenging to make it back.  Hopefully massage tomorrow will help.

I went to see April today to get this glute/hip/back thing massaged.  And it didn't really help.  She did say that I was just stressed out, and this thing would work itself out eventually.  I'm so done with it. 

I tried doing some Turbokick tonight, and only made it about 20 min before it bugged me so much I had to stop.  She suggested the chiro tomorrow - maybe that will help???

A visit to the chiropractor yielded unsatisfactory results - maybe it will help it work it out eventually though. He adjusted my back, and then did a little graston on the area.   I can't figure out what is causing the pain, but I can feel it in my gluteus minimus - even more so on downhills.

7 on the treadmill  with a little help from ibuprofen.

Today was Evan's bday, so of course I overdid it the night before getting stuff ready.  I always see stuff on pinterest that looks easy - 2 hours later I figure out that I still have a while and it takes forever.  Needless to say, i was up til 3 getting the star wars themed party ready.  It was so worth it though:)

I did try to go running when i woke up at 10, but i walked outside and it was 90 deg already!

So I was happy when I actually followed through and went on my run that evening.  I started it at 8 pm, and was really going to try and do 11 miles.  Actually, my back and glute were hurting, so I was telling myself to try for 8.

I did the watertower loop for the first 7.5, and my glute hurt the whole time - not unbearably though.  It was ok enough to circle around and get the last 4 miles.  The whole run took 1:40 - I had miscalculated and actually done 12.  I could feel it cause I was way tired and sore and hungry.  I'm so happy to have completed it though!  I'm still looking forward to the time when this feels easy again!

My feet get sore, but I'm happy to report - No HEEL PAIN!   I do have to give my feet an ice bath every few days, but that seems to keep everything at bay:)
