Running Accomplishments:

-I'm an avid runner and crossfitter turned obstacle racer.  This year has brought on new and unexpected opportunities racing in Spartan races.  I'm in love with this new challenging part of my life.

Here is what I've come away with so far

Short-Term Running Goals:

I am working to become the best obstacle  racer I can be.  If that goes hand in hand with a National Championship title, than I will have met 2 of my goals/dreams.

 

Long-Term Running Goals:

Another sub 3 hour marathon

Sub 1:20 half marathon

I want to complete an ironman and some ultra races.

I Hope to be running until I'm 100.

 

Personal:

I have 2 boys (7 and 4) and a little girl (14 months) that keep me on my toes and make life worth living..  I've been married to my better half (Jim clark) for 10 years.  I teach fitness classes and am a personal trainer - my 2nd love is Zumba!  I love what i do!

I hold Obstacle Training Groups at my house on saturdays -I feel so blessed to be able to help others.

I would have like to really gradually increase miles/ intensity, but I had 3 weeks til Vermont, and i had to do something.  I was hoping and praying that I could get some hard workouts in without injuring myself again.

For Labor Day today, I ran up to Kolob.  Yes it was literally uphill the entire way.  I carried a sandbag for a mile in there too.

I jumped in the cold lake at the top- trying to train for Vermont!

Post - blogging - ugh can't remember.  I probably did a track workout, 3-4 miles- 400s and 600s, with push ups/ burpees/ etc.  I can't believe how long it is taking me to get my speed back.  My 400s were closer to 1:15, which isn't bad with all the strength moves in between.

Decided to use my rest day to do a little hiking - with sandbags.  went about 50 min.  Gotta get my legs used to that Vermont ski resort.

I got my innov8s today and decided to test them out on my run.  I was hoping that they were the answer to my downhill running prayers;)  They have a cleat like bottom, and proved to live up to their hype.

I ran 3 miles up toquerville falls rd, 3 down, and did the rest with the obstacles in Toquerville.  There was a really nice drizzle going on, and it was pretty near perfect.  The run felt great and I was stoked.
