So much fun today! I wanted to run the marathon sooo badly, so I asked my friend, Aimee, if she wanted a pacer at the end (who wouldn't).  Sooo I got to run the best part of the marathon without the pain!

I got dropped off at mile 2.5, and ran up to meet her at mile 5.  I even got to run with another lady up named staci who was also going to pace her friend going for a sub 3 hour.  Aimee was trying to get under 3:20, and i was confident i could hold that pace at 5 mo preggo.

It was a different experience to be at the front when the leaders were coming in - there were way less spectators and everyone looked a lot more solid.  I tried yelling for everyone, but most had ear phones in.  Clyde and Steve looked really good and i was happy for what they achieved that day.  I was waiting to yell for Amber, but I never saw her (I knew something must've been wrong).  It was sooo awesome to see Marcie killing it - and in 6th place.  What an achievement for her!

I had it perfectly timed as she arrived shortly after i came out of the port a potty.  She said she was doing good so far, and she looked pretty solid.  This was her first st. george marathon, so i knew the worst was yet to come for her.  It was feeling pretty warm that day too.

She stayed pretty solid until about 2.5 miles left - her legs were just burning.  I tried all types of things to motivate her, but she still slowed down from 7:30 to 8:30 (she told me later she wanted me to yell at her - I can't do that lol). She still held it together though and finished with a 3:23 - which is a  2 min p.r. for her.  I loved enjoying the yelling crowds without wanting to kill them (does that happen to anyone else).  The pace felt pretty easy.

I hung around and cheered other friends in - it was just fun to be a part of even though I didn't actually "run" it.

I'm 19 weeks, and 130 lbs.

Whew, way hard run today!  I don't know what got into me but i decided to run up to the highway which also happened to be uphill against the wind!  That was the longest 2.5 miles of my life!  I ran back down and then added on the water tower trail.  The dirt felt so much nicer on my joints, but things are still starting to ache a bit.  Hip flexor was pretty done by the end of it.Time to schedule massage with april!

We took the kids and their bikes up to the Pa Rus trail in Zion which was  a blast.  They are such curious boys that crave the outdoors so they loved it.  We had a leftover gift certificate to a small restaurant called the Whiptail Grill in springdale- UGh!!!  I don't know that i've ever been to a restaurant that was free for me that i would never recommend to anyone.  The small meals were $16 a piece!  and they couldn't even bother to serve a salad on a place seperate from my entree.

I had to squeeze my miles in before our family night at wash rec center, so i just did 5.  The weather felt awesome, but my stomach wasn't loving it (it never does at the end of the day).  I'm excited to do the vegas relay next week!

I got to swim with my fam, and was so dang proud of my 5 year old - He's swimming like a pro!  My hubby swam some laps as he wants to do a triathlon (first one) next month.

We ate at chuck a rama for the 2nd time this week - I hope i never say that sentence again.  All I crave are salads though (and gummy peach rings) and that buffet has one of the best i must say.  I also saw an 80 year old lady with the most defined calves i've ever seen on a woman period! It was inspiring.  We thought she was a guy when she was walking away.

Of course I'm gettting bigger, but I'm really feeling bigger today.  My ligaments are aching from being stretched out.  I'm also feeling my baby move a lot more which is what makes pregnancy worth it to me.  I love it so much.

I taught a packed core class today (well i watched them do it anyways) and then got some of them to accompany for my run after.  A friend took isaac to the library for me, so I enjoyed a fun free.  6 slow miles, but it's all money in the bank, right?  I was really dragging and tired by the end.

My birthday!!!  I wanted to give my hips and joints a break, so I headed to wash rec to get some swim laps in.  Boy did i feel out of it.  A mile use to take me 30 to 35 min, and I did it in 45 min.  oh well.  I'm sure my belly created some drag:)

My friends had a lunch at the park for me (oh how i love not cooking) and it was amazing!  I am soooo lucky to have them.

Then jim took me shopping and then to dinner at night.  We ate at benja's and had the best food i've had in a while.  I die for curry, and it totally hit the spot that night.  Plus, everything tastes so much better when i don't have to make it!  I ate so much i didn't even have room for their mangoes and sticky rice dessert.

First of all, I must mention that this was the first race where my goal was to not work hard - too hard anyways.  I'm 22 weeks preggo, and just wanted to have a fun time with my girls. I'd been maintaining 10-12 mile runs on the weekends, and I knew my bod could most likely handle it it - I was definitely going to listen to my body and play it safe.  I also knew they would pick up the slack for me if needed:)  My all-girls st george running center team kicked butt!  I did not find a shortage of people who thought that I was being reckless for doing this, but I know my body and I've ran through 2 other pregnancies with super healthy babies.

We got to the race way late cause of an accident on I - 15, so our first runner was pretty much hitting the pavement when we got there.  The first thing we noticed - wow it was a little hot for November.  Wait it was way hot!  Our start time was 1:30 pm which didn't help either.  So runners 1-5 had an interesting time running their legs.  We found out shortly that it was wavering between 92-95 degrees!  And of course Vegas desert has no mountains, wind, trees, or shade.  It was a good thing we got to help our runners out!

At mile 3, we got heckled by a guys team that seem to be keeping pace with us, and we were trading off leads.  In fact one guy came over, and bet us $100 that we couldn't catch his next runner (which was the only girl on the team).  that had a good 2-3 min start on us, and our next runner was Aimee Langston.  He really didn't know that he was betting the wrong girl.  She is by far the most competitive person i know!  So we sealed the bet (it's vegas right?) and Aimee took off.  Of course she caught her, and gained a good min on her!  ha ha it really made our day, and humbled theirs:)Aimee ran her fastest 6 miles ever, even in the heat!

I was somewhat worried about my coming leg - I was runner 6, but it was still 92 degrees at 5 pm.  I only had 4.9 to run, but one of the things they warn u about when exercising pregnant is to avoid overheating (it's like getting in a hot tub).  Ahhhh.  so i was going to try out a mile, and switch out if i felt too hot.  1 mile in I turned a corner, and the road started heading into a canyon!  It was shaded for the entirety of my run and I felt sooo grateful:)  My body felt pretty good though the downhill pulled on my belly a bit and was a tad bit uncomfortable.  I averaged low 7's and it went by smoothly.

My evening leg didn't go as well.  I had eaten a bit more than i normally do between these legs, and it didn't sit right with me.  They rated it a 4.6 easy, but it sure did not feel easy.  The whole thing was inclined uphill.  My legs were chaffing (dang short shorts) and i kept burping up acid (the joys of pregnancy).  And then the stomach pain hit, and I struggled for 2 miles before finding a bathroom - well the nearest park tree.  At least it was dark.

At the next transition, I was overjoyed to find that ragnar had provided sleeping bags that were all over a grassy hill for their runners.  What a great feature!!!! I was extra exhausted and had no prob passing out for a couple of hours.

We had lots of fun passing hoards of runners the next day for our 3rd legs.  I had decided to let one of the ladies run some of mine since my hips were feeling fatigued, and it was rated 6.1 very hard.  It was a pretty decent hill on the dirt.  and it was hot again!  I jumped in for the last 2 miles.  I had passed 18 people and really wanted to make it 20(most people were walking), but 1 guy and 1 girl had taken a look a my pregnant belly when i tried to pass - they were not going to let that happen lol.  so they gave me a run for my money, and we really pushed out last mile in.  It was great and it felt so good to push my body a little bit.

At the finish line, I found 2 other pregnant ladies that had ran, and was happy to know that i wasn't the only crazy one.  It was such a fun day and was so happy to do it.  Baby got its first ragnar experience.  I'm always impressed with ragnar's organization and love relays sooo much!

My ladies rocked it, and we ended up averaging 7:30s for the whole thing:)
